IBM expands cognitive APIs in the Watson Developer Cloud (WDC) for developers who are creating products, services and applications embedded with Watson. These APIs focus on increased capabilities in language, including an NLP classifier, dialog, concept expansion, and document conversion; speech; vision; and data insights. IBM also announced that it will launch next year an IBM Watson facility in San Francisco that puts it closer to developers, startups, venture, and academics in the region. This follows IBM’s announcement last month that it locate its new health care analytics division in the Boston area.
